Wow Best Buy, Just Wow

bestbuyI was visiting some of the sites I normally visit and while on Kotaku this caught my eye.  Best Buy is trying to sell Playstation 3 installation for $129.99.  Owen Good from Kotaku titles his post “Seriously This Should Be Illegal.”  I can’t agree with him more.  This is just greed at it’s finest.  Everything they list as a service is something any single person could do on their own(click on image for full size)

I wonder how SONY would feel about this?  I feel they need to step in and take some sort of action against this.  While I hope that no consumer is tricked into paying for this, you know there will be those who are.  This needs to be stopped before they start getting carried away with it.  Please SONY, if you can, do something about this! This is a SHITTY thing to do.  Best Buy just got my official stamp of SHIT.

At first, I thought it was a PS3 w/ installation for 130, then I looked at it again and saw the worst deal ever.

Welcome, to capitalism. It is expected. I’m sure that if anyone would be offered $130 to do those services would gladly accept the money instead of explaining how easy it is. Also anyone who would buy a piece of technology and not do the proper research on how to do these simple operations deserves to lose their money. If when DVD players first came out and you bought one and for some reason didn’t know how to turn off subtitles for movies, and paid someone to do it other than reading the manual you deserve to lose that money. They aren’t tricking anybody. They aren’t selling the system for $130 more saying “PS3 Slim, $429 with free Geek Squad Installation.” No, it is an option. If someone is willing to spend that much for installation they deserve to lose the money because there is no fraud going on. They are a business, making money is what they do and what they want to do. Now, Best Buy is still a piece of shit but this offer is understandable from a business standpoint.

ohh dude totally agreed from a business perspective this is great. They loved it at that meeting I’m sure. But, even to offer it as a service it just scummy.

When they say they will “setup & configure” like that it makes me feel like they are offering a valuable and worthwhile service.
    – the mind of somebody buying their grandchild a birthday present.

I always buy online, from retailers that only sell online. always seems to be a better deal.
