Crazy Starcraft Player Stabs 15yr Old Girl

An 18 year old went into a fit of rage late on a Saturday night(Aug 9th) after his game of Starcraft was cut short because his internet connection cut out. The enraged 18 year old proceeded to grab a kitchen knife, walk into the street, and then stab an innocent 15 year old girl passing by on her way home form a party with her friend. Although she was stabbed multiple times by the crazed 18 year old, none of the injuries were life threatening.

As for the 18 year old, he was going to be convicted of attempted homicide, but instead is being sent for psychiatric care. Occurrences like this make you wonder what must be running though his mind. He could have simply waited for the connection to come back, but now because of his irrationality and rage, he probably won’t be playing Starcraft for a long time to come. I’m sure this will turn out to be another bad notch in the “gaming makes you do bad things” belt.

Ummmmm FYI if you get disconnected it kicks you off line, which means that the other players keep playing without you, and this isn’t Diablo where you can just rejoin the game ._. once its been started its been started. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Just pointing an obvious fact. Sorry for any typos.

Well, this is going to make a nice reputation for the gaming society. Again we’ll have the bullshit of “gaming makes you stab young girls” and “gaming makes you lose control over yourself”

You gotta be wondering what’s going through the mind of such a guy, that is. Maybe it’s more because of his addiction to games than the game itself? Can’t they like, start a research about that instead of researching the game?

A better solution would have been to break into the girl’s house install starcraft and play on her connection.

Wow, that’s crazy. What a dick! Should StarCraft be blamed? Of course not! I have StarCraft, and yes sometimes my connection cuts off on me, but not once have I ever thought of doing something crazy like that.

If it wasn’t StarCraft, it would have been something else that would of triggered that type of behavior. I really hope this story doesn’t get blown out of proportion – “critics” claiming that it’s the video game industries fault. That’s strictly bullshit.

I hope the girl is ok. As for the lunatic, he either needs some good psychiatric help, or he needs to be put in jail. Sad story though. You wish stuff like this doesn’t happen, but unfortunately it does. Sucks.

There is no way Starcraft, or any video game could cause that. Trigger it maybe, but the underlying mental stability issues are the problem which result in incidents like this.

Games don’t make people crazy, crazy people just happen to play video games. This guy was just a loose cannon and i bet in retrospect he regrets it because he probably won’t be playing StarCraft ever again I would hate to be the person to tell him that though

If all it took was his internet connection dropping to cause him to go into a rage then he has more problems then let on to. The 18 y/o seems he was “mad” before this even happened. I bet if he was making a sandwich and didn’t have his cheese for it, it would have resulted in the same effect. lol

Dumbass reporter was lucky enough to see his modem booting back up and blamed in on Gaming. For all we know he wasn’t even playing Sratcraft. lol

Although random acts of violence are nothing to laugh at!

Gosh, People like this that have the capability to get this angry and upset over a video game should really be looked at or given some consoling. But im shore this guy must of had past mental problems, or some type of anger management. People should really start learning there limit and how to control there andger and them self’s when incidents like this happen. What happened to that poor girl could have been avoided, if the guy would of used his head, then just going off on a rampage.
