L4D2 Achievements for Achievement Whores.

If you’re like me, you love getting achievements in great games, and it looks like Left 4 Dead 2 is shaping up to be one of those great games. Recently released were the achievements for L4D2, complete with the point values for the Xbox 360 version of the game. Commentary after the list.

l4d21l4d22l4d23l4d24The achievements are pretty straightforward. Of note is the fact that there’s no Zombie Genocider-type achievement, which I think is a positive thing. Some of the interesting observations from this list: apparently there’s a defibrillator item that will let you revive a dead teammate! That’s pretty cool, I imagine it’ll take the place of the medkit. The Wing And A Prayer achievement seems to be kind of like the Untouchables achievement from the first Left 4 Dead. There are a bunch of melee weapon achievements, including kill a tank. That means it’s time for Easy Mode.

Who the F#%K is Moustachio? How will we prove we are stronger and faster than him? And is Gnome Chompski the same damn garden gnome from that pain in the ass (but fun!) achievement in Half-Life 2 Episode 2?

The achievement names are amazing. The literary references always make me smile, like “Great Expectorations.”  And going from “Cr0wned” to “Cl0wned” is brilliant, but I would expect nothing less from Valve.

And as expected, there’s the Realism Mode achievement. I’m really curious about this mode, and how hard it’s going to be.

So who out there is gonna help me get these?

moustachio is in the 3rd level of the dark carnival map..before u head into the bummer kart place and get out, u can see the machine, where u hit and proof ur strength..to get that achievement u need to use the adreline first then hit the lever thingie wit a melee..the horde will come once it hits the top, but u will get the achievement:)

Moustachio is a game you play in the Dark Carnival level Part two. They are very easy achievements to get and the Gnome is a game also you have to play.

i dont like reading achievement lists lol but i wanted to leave a comment, sometimes reading the list ruins some of the game for me

Yea, I didn’t read the list myself. I usually wait till I put the game into my 360, then I go look at them.

well, you’re both LAME. Just Kidding, but I like to have an idea of what Im up against and how long the game is. Also you learn about some of the side stuff in the game which is always a plus

The achievements seem pretty nice in the next L4D. Each give alittle secret to the content and what the game play is going to be like in the game.

I can’t wait to see this game! I loved the first L4D, it’ll be nice to see what the improvements for the first game could’ve been.

These seem like really nice achievements, look like they are challenging but at the same time fun to do.

Hey John, I aint no whore! I prefer the term “Achievement Hunter.” lol

I’ll help you with those “cheevos” pal. I will let you know that when I come across people like you, with a higher gamerscore than mine, I tend to chase’em down so I can have a bigger score. You and my brother are at about the same, lol. ;-)

I would help you, but I still don’t have an Xbox 360. :( I have a PS3, but I’m really starting too feel like I’m missing out with the amazing community on Xbox Live – especially the community right here on HBG. :(

Out of all the Xbox 360 models on the market, which one do you guys recommend?

Sorry for going a little off topic.

    • John October 13, 2009 at 12:42 - Reply

It depends on how much Xbox Live content you’re planning on downloading, really, but if you can find a Pro 60gig you’d probably be best getting that.

        Thanks for the recommendation John.

Everyone is telling me different things – it just drives me crazy. In situations like this, I never know which to choose. The Arcade version, Elite, Pro, etc?

I need to know, between all these different 360 models, what is/are the only difference(s) between them?

Thanks a lot John. I apologize for this other question, it’s just I get quite paranoid when it comes to decisions like this. :S

          No worries.

The new Arcade 360 has some amount of onboard memory, but not a lot, maybe 256 megs. I believe it costs $199. The Pro has a 60 gig hard drive and costs $249, but they’re not making any more, so it’s while supplies last. The Elite is $299, and has a 120 gig hard drive, and is colored black.

That’s about it, though there are stuff like special edition Elites with bigger hard drives and different colors.

I’m missing a load of acievements for the first game and will miss a lot in the second. I prefer to enjoy the games rather than get frustrated trying to get achievements I know are beyond my gaming skill. >_<

i honestly dont care at all for achievements. i dont play the game for them. becuase when you play multiplayer on some game. those achievements dont mean shit. and they dont help you at all

Haha. I’m looking forward to the achievement Cl0wned xD

  18. Kenyi October 13, 2009 at 11:15 - Reply

Well, it’s good to see they didn’t place ‘just for the heck of it’ achievements like some games do. I have high expectations already, and if you’ll buy it for the Xbox360, Kreyg, I’ll help you out getting those, as I’ll be getting those myself as well xD
