A new section added to the Mass Effect section of Bioware’s website not only shows off one of the weapons, but two new screenshots as well. While no other weapons are shown at the moment, they show us the “Avenger Assault Rifle” and give us a bit of background on it. I would assume that more updates to this page will be made as we get closer to release, but for now, 1 gun 2 shots is all we get. Mass Effect 2 is set to release January 26th and is said to be exclusive to Xbox360 and PC.

I love how the guns in ME2 don’t “overheat” anymore. Instead they have clips, except for the rocket launcher. That’s the only gun, so far, that actually can run out of ammo.
Oh wait, I guess they took that down. DAMN! I should have “Prt Scrn’d” it. lol

ME2 is going to be great,the gun looks cool, i hope its not over powered or anything, i like the blood dragon armor in ME2 you get for preordering the game. it looks alright in dragon age, but definitely better in mass effect.
I just looked at the avengers page and according to its stats of 850 rounds per minute I can only guess it has two barrels to shoot 2 rounds at one time because otherwise it would have to be shooting 14 rounds per second.. which would be a toughie.
LoL, its the future man, I wouldn’t worry too much about that kind of stuff. Plus, the game looks like it’s going to blow the first one out of the water, which is a good thing. The first one was good, but it lacked too much depth outside of the main story
