[Musician] Sues Activision Over [Music Game]

There, now we can reuse the headline when the next game comes out and this happens again, as it happened before with Kurt Cobain and Guitar Hero 5.

No Doubt is suing Activision over the use of the band’s likenesses in Band Hero, the tween-oriented Guitar Hero knockoff featuring such star power as Taylor Swift. No Doubt claims that they only agreed for the band to be able to be used during No Doubt songs, but, like Kurt Cobain in Guitar Hero 5, you can use them when playing any song.

You’d really think they’d have learned. I don’t know anyone who would go out and buy Band Hero just because oh my god, you can play as Gwen Stefani singing Honky Tonk Woman.

Activision, of course, claims that they have a contract that specifically allows them to do what they have done.

I prefer Rock Band, myself.

Good, good, soon HMX will once again rule the music video game industry as they should already if it wasn’t for the sheep that keep buying GH games.

Seriously, bands already make too much money for what they do. Now they want more money for less publicity. Idiots… -_-

I’m sure Activision has it in the contract somewhere that they can use them on any song. Here’s a lesson for everyone: contracts say shit so read them.

Courtney and No Doubt seriously need to actually play the game before joining the project. EVERY character can be used on EVERY song, that’s the way it is, if they had played the game they would know that.

“featuring such star power as Taylor Swift.”

The way you say that makes me feel like you’re not incredibly fond of Taylor Swift…
