Fallout’s Vault Boy Delivering Pizza’s?

It looks like an Expresso Pizza of Billerica, Massachusetts decided to use the vault boy from Fallout on their menu cover without any formal permission from Bethesda.

Now, I’m sure that Bethesda who publishes Fallout has to own some sort of rights on the vault boy. so there might be some sort of problem with this right?

When Bethesda was contacted by Joystiq, they had this to say,

Well he is a big part of our Fallout brand and is copyrighted, so, yeah, deciding on your own to use him to promote your business or product, or to sell stuff, or whatever, without getting permission from us … not a good idea.

Seems like Expresso Pizza might need to change that menu cover pretty soon. I’m sure they will be getting a call from Bethesda sometime in the near future.

They should of put a mustache and a chef head on the vault boy it would look awesome

I guess they just figured that they wouldnt be caught. Silly them, some gamers probably ordered pizza one night and found the fallout boy and messaged up Bethesda.

What if Bethesda sued the pizza company, and with the money they built a pizza parlor of there own right next to Expresso Pizza and just spammed the fallout boy logo everywhere. :p

Well even if they asked for the Vault Boy to be on the menu cover it’s likely they will say no, because some people don’t even know about fallout. And people will give credit to Expresso Pizza for this.

  yeah they should have. If they said no, they shouldnt use it. Now there probably will be no chance of them using it ever.
