If Your Xbox Avatar is Lonely, Get Them a Pet

It was announced by Major Nelson that if you want to waste spend 240 ms points, you can give your avatar a pet.  I’m sure you’re wondering, what use will this serve?  Almost no purpose at all, except to maybe keep your avatar some company.

The pets made available will be, a large dog, pug dog, dog in bag, cat, siamese cat, long haired cat, goldfish, guinea pig, monkey, bird, snake and a pony.

Well, I guess if I had 240 ms points that I couldn’t put towards something USEFUL, I would get something like this which is completely USELESS.

    I honestly do not understand the point. Why would anybody buy a virtual pet, or any of those avatar things for your virtual self. You don’t get to use them for anything, you don’t even have control over what they do. I just think that these things for your avatar are completely useless.

    While I’ll admit to being guilty of perhaps buying items for my avatar to make him look cooler and it ultimately accomplished NOTHING, this is a bit much. All these items you have to buy with MS points is just absurd. I mean, what is so wrong with giving us an item? Need they really charge us? All this money grabbing techniques in the video game industry are slowly making it harder for me to keep in it.

    i would buy this in a heart beat…i mean i said that for the bible post (witch i still am ) and that other one (i forgot :P ) but yeah and since they said a PUG!!! ohhh man (I have 3 at home..used to have 5) i’m sooo comferimed on it :P :) :) :)

    maybe.. maybe if they had a red panda.. ahaha wow.. this is the dumbest thing I have seen. man, why not just make a game were you play as your avatar in a virtual city, having to get a job, to make money and friends and go shopping and end up spending more time in your fake lonely world trying to get with a girl who is actually a guy so you don’t feel like a completely failure in what you call your life.. err.. you actually life not the one your pretending to be in.

    If I was into wasting-I mean spending my money on pointless sh*t I’d go for the snake. In a way its no different from the remote controlled cars and sh*t.

    I already have two dogs and they get in the way of my gaming just as much these x-pets (as in xbox pets see im clever)

    My avatar is really lonely. I need an avatar girlfriend not a pet. I’m really desperate. What will they think of next so you can waste your money.

    The only thing I want to see is the Monkey, I probably won’t buy it, but of it pics would be sweet.

    5 dollars for a pet that u cant do anything with????

    Im getting tired of loving animals getting replaced by robots and computers…. i enjoy all the fun you can have on a computer…
    but replacing a living,breathing thing for something you cant even feel, now thats sad…

    i own 1 dog, named zak. its so nice on lonley or sad days to have someone that will be wiht you insted if lousy “vitural pets”

    plus all the fake pet toys, (tomighoshi, and zu zu pets ect) are very sad when you should learn to cacre and love an actual pet
