Emanuel Lawrence has been arrested on the charge of aggravated manslaughter of a child after the death of his daughter Jaidyn. Police say that Lawrence was “irresponsible” before the accident occured. Leading up to the death, Lawrence had been smoking marijuana and played his Xbox 360 until around 6 a.m.
The unemployed Lawrence had been watching his daughters while the mother Ines Gonzalez worked a day job and went to school at night. Lawrence had received a call about 45 mins after he fell asleep. The call was from Gonzalez and she instructed him to feed Jaidyn. He did so, but in a sleep like state after his long night of drugs and gaming. He placed the child back on the queen sized bed and fell back to sleep.
When Lawrence woke up, he had discovered that he had slept on the baby and she had been suffocated to death. Lawrence tried to cover up the death by moving the baby her crib in “fear of being arrested.” Lawrence is being held on $75,000 bail at Broward’s main Jail.
Our hearts and prayers go out to Ines Gonzalez, but this is why when you’re a parent, you need to prioritize and realize that doing drugs and playing games until 6 am is not the right thing to do.

Honestly…that guy had to be VERY stoned in order to do that. I know how it is to get high and I can tell you that there is NO WAY WHATSOEVER that falling asleep ON a child could be even considered comfortable. That guy must be either completely moronic (which shows its face when he moved his daughter’s body) or had to be so blazed he couldn’t even move. Either way, they guy is an idiot. Then again replace the pot with alcohol and you’d be amazed how the blame is focused so much on the substance. The use of weed had some affect but his poor judgement is the worst.

Just because someone is able to procreate doesn’t mean they should, and this guy is a prime example. This is one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard happening, and I’m sure it will just be more ammunition for the segment of the population that already feels video games are contributing to the decline of society…and pot too.

Well this has two things that the public dislikes: drugs and video games. put that in the mix and you’ll cause a stir and the media(preferably fox news) likes this kinds of stuff.
