I’ve seen some weird stuff in my day, but this sure does take the cake. It’s interesting to see how “art” is interpreted by different people. To someone like myself, a microwaved video game console like an Xbox 360 or a Nintendo Wii is not something I’d be to happy about or call “art,” but to another person, it’s expensive “artwork.”
Selling for $31,002 is a Microwaved Xbox 360 console.
As you can see, the console has been microwaved and given a slightly gruesome look with all the eyes added on. I must say this is one weird piece of “artwork.” In the Ebay auction, it says 50% of the proceeds will be donated to the “CAIR-CA, The Council on American-Islamic Relations, California”
If you’re not a fan of Xbox, you could always go with a Microwaved Nintendo Wii! That’s right, it’s the same thing as the Xbox 360 except a Nintendo Wii and 1/7th the price. At $5988 you can get the Wii. Like the 360, this one will have its proceeds go towards “CAIR-CA,” but only 25%.
If you ask me, I think these both are pretty outrageous, but unique in their own ways. In case for some reason any of you are wondering, these consoles are non-functional. That’s right, they are just to look at, not play. Sorry!
