Someone asked their Grandfather for Modern Warfare 2 for Christmas and ended up with this instead.
This is why you need to be very specific with older people. They don’t know about half the stuff we do. Despite receiving this and an outburst of laughter when he opened it, user Syaoran07 over at Reddit still said thank you and actually enjoyed some of the movies.
They say it’s the thought that counts, right? At least he didn’t get coal.
I asked for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 for Christmas, this is what i got [Reddit]

i just looked at this again, and the guy in the bottom right corner of the DVD box kind of looks like an angry Greg Arganda with a mustache.
haha oh well he still enjoyed the movies. at least he didn’t go ape shit at his grandfather like a spoiled brat would do.
What a fail!
4 movies or one game hmmm im going to go with the 4 movies
That is why old people rock!
I think thats pretty cool. I would like to have the game yeah, but they look cool.
That’s Bullsh**t right there lol
Haha [facepalm]… That’s actually pretty cool, though. I would have gladly accepted that gift, too. I never knew that existed.
At least he tried, I mean old peoples brains are like rusty gears…they don’t work as fast. :S
maybe the same thing happen to that British kid who made the video ranting how modern warefare 2 suck and punched the wall
At least now his grandpa’s wife wont try stabbing him.
LOL, FAIL!
good kid, good kid!
theres some pretty slick production schemes going on
haha, That’s fucking great.
hhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha real facepalm there, but at least he laughed instead of being pissy about it!
haha well it could be worse
Awe, it’s the thought that counts =)
He tried, yes?
It’s happened to be before and I’ve quite enjoyed the mistake gift very much [years ago I asked for splinter cell [forgot to put "double agent xbox 360 game" at the end] and my cousin [who was my secret santa] gave me every splinter cell book [as well as a few other tom clancey novels]. I’m a huge reader next to being a crazy gamer; so I loved my “mistake” gift.
Actually, I asked for Modern Warfare Collector’s Set on Christmas and got Modern Warfare 2 :/
Haha, that’s priceless. xD Silly old people.
Woooow i would be like wtf :@ even though i do like some of those movies i might be alright with it but thats just me. But i still would tell them the one i really want
. lol
Too bad he didn’t get the Chuck Norris Definitive Collection DVD. All 3 Missing in Action movies for the price of one? I couldn’t pass that one up! I grew up with those movies!
awww i feel sympathy for the kid i’ve had parents/grandparents who make that kinda mistake when it comes to video games only thing is my dad sets them in the right path
Sucks for the kid,but cant blame a guy for tryin.
xD
I find this hilarious! Im glad he’s being a good sport about it though.
Ha, this has happened to me, I can understand. The box did say Modern Warfare, she got something right. I would have laughed at this also, there would be no reason to get mad.
Ha thats like when I got the same game from two different family members! Luckly I was able to return it. This is why money is always a good gift!
LOL That’s the same movie i saw at Walmart a few days ago,i was like Modern Warfare wtf?,thats funny
Thats kinda funny. I’m glad he took it well. Most people would flip out sadly.
it could have been worst could have goten wat he wanted but for the wrong system.
god, and i thought getting tshirts in the wrong size was bad, lol
I’ve been here far too many times.
It’s nice to see that even though his Grandfather got him the wrong Modern Warfare, Syaoran07 still took it well. I also agree that it’s the thought that counts.
Well at least Syaoran07 didnt get angry about his grandfather buying the wrong video game or movie.
Yeah, I do gifts by an Amazon wish list. My mom then receives money from various people and arbitrarily delegates the money to items on the wish list. Works like a charm.
Good to see that this guy took it well.
Ouch that has gotta sting. Thanks Grandma!
Haha, this is funny, but at least he tried.
This is why I show the person getting me the gift the box art of the game or movie. But Syaoran07 still like some of movies and thank his Grandfather for it, it’s the thought that counts.
This reminds me of the time when I got Rise 2 Resurrection on PS1 from my mom for Christmas. I wasn’t really mad cause she tried. But the funny thing was, I saw the game in the clearance bin at this store a few days before xmas, haha. When I opened it, she asked “will that work with your PS2″ and I said, yeah my mom, it’s great.
omg kreyg it was $3
Lol.That’s only the first modern warfare! It is the thought that counts though.
this is why you got to love old people
I facepalmed, and then I got a sad face, and then I felt like patting the grandfather on the back.
That is why I ask for money instead of gifts…
I remember when I was really young, and pokemon yellow version was coming out.
I wanted it so badly
and one night my grandma came over to my house and gave me and my brother what she thought was pokemon yellow version.
Turned out to be pokemon pinball.
p.s. yellow version wasn’t out until a month later
Hahaha that’s pretty funny. At least the grandfather tried.
Indeed, as I said in the post, it’s the thought that counts
