Stolen Video Games Help Catch Unregistered Sex Offender

Mr Unregistered

Delaware State Police arrested 35 year old Patrick Monceaux of Seaford after he allegedly stole video games out of a car and then sold them to a local store for some extra cash.  Police arrested Monceaux at his friend’s house which happened to be the same street that the car the games were stolen from was on.

The investigation of the games led police to find something else out about their video game thief.  Delaware State Police learned Patrick Monceaux is a sex offender convicted of 2nd degree statutory rape in 1998.  Because of this he required by law to register his address with the state.

Monceaux of course failed to register his new address within the three business days given to him by the state of Delaware.  This of course when you’re a pedophile is a big no-no in most places.  Due to the theft and the failure of his re-registration, Patrick Monceaux is now facing a whole laundry list of charges.

The charges Monceaux faces are, felony count of failure to re-register as a sex offender, 24 misdemeanor counts of theft, 24 misdemeanor counts of receiving stolen property, and 24 misdemeanor counts of selling stolen property.  Mr Monceaux was arraigned and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institute instead of $25,000 secured bail.

As for the stolen video games, it’s a happy ending there as Police were able to recover the games and return them to the victim.  Video games once again save the day.

There is a whole list of things wrong with this guy’s life. From managing to get on the sex offender’s list, to breaking its rules, and then managing to speed up his prosecution for failing to register by adding a load more charges to his case. Well played sir. Well played.

And people said video games were harming children. Looks like they may have saved a few in this case.
