It seems that the game industry got off scott free in terms of Erik Estavillo, as the man has had a change of heart, and has decided to drop all previous lawsuits.
Estavillo claims that the reason for dropping all of these lawsuits was medical concerns. The long waits between cases were beginning to alarm his doctors, who advised him to walk away for safety reasons. Estavillo’s previous medical conditions include symptoms related to panic disorder as well as Crohn’s disease.
Erik also pins the blame for dropping the various lawsuits on the fact that he could not afford to pay the process fees of the number of people he asked to show up for the cases, such as Bill Gates and Winona Ryder.
Before dropping the lawsuits, Estavillo had established an impressive list of cases, including Sony, Microsoft, Activision Blizzard, and large number of press websites. It looks like these companies are safe for the time being.

I get the feeling those companies weren’t particularly worried anyway. The only concerns they could possibly have would be fees for their lawyer, and most of them probably have a “standing lawyer” of sorts, and so it wouldn’t be too much an issue.
