Captain’s log, Stardate 87699.31. It was an interesting night last night on Star Trek Online. It wasn’t because I was getting rejected by female officers, or starting dance parties at club 47, but something unusual that happened while we were dancing and at hanging around at the Earth Spacedock.
While DJ and Ronny were dancing around, I had went to change my uniform. While I was changing, in an titillated voice Ronny said, “Ohh my god!” DJ and I then asked Ronny what had happened to make him sound so excited. It was then Ronny said, “This guy gave me 1,000,000 energy credits.” If you don’t know, energy credits are the in-game currency for STO.
A player we didn’t know walked up to Ronny and gave him a million in-game dollars. It was strange, but awesome at the same time. I finished changing my uniform and ran over to DJ and Ronny. When I got there, the user who had given the money to Ronny asked if we were in a fleet. When I replied yes, he said to split what he had given Ronny. The generosity didn’t stop there though. The player unloaded his inventory onto the three of us.

Salute
We then had to ask him why he was giving us all this. He told us he was a medical student who didn’t really have the time to play. Apparently he did over the weekend though. It must have taken a lot to amass 1 million energy credits and the inventory of items he had. We thanked him for what he did and then saluted the player for being so awesome. It’s not everyday in an MMO you meet someone who wants to unload their inventory on you.
What happened next though made things even more interesting. He asked us if we used a site called JTV. It was such a strange coincidence that he had just given us all this and then asked if we used the site that powers our live broadcast. He said he doesn’t watch many of the gaming channels, but has stopped in to some of the ones play STO recently. He was sure he had stopped by our broadcast at some point.

What To Do With My Energry Credits
Suffice to say it was not only weird to get all that in-game money and items, but meet a fellow JTV user. Now I just need to figure out how to spend my share of that 1 million energy credits. Should I buy a new ship or save it?

“It’s not everyday in an MMO you meet someone who wants to unload their inventory on you” made me lol
i would save it if i were you
Damn that’s generous… …
Maybe now you can get find that chick that rejected you and ask for a lapdance since you can actually pay her lol
Woo space ass.
But seriously.. Very generous of the player.
Kreyg you should buy another bank tab on the fleet bank ^.^ nah but honestly man. I’ve played my fair share of MMO’s some people are just really generous and its time like these that the just pure generosity of people is just amazing.
Yeah, we need it dude. It was expensive though, like 1.3mill.
Wow that’s awesome. I’ve always been generous to people in mmo’s but always to noobs and never to that extent. Luckyyyy!
You never see anything like this on XBL, otherwise nearly every player on MW2 would be 10th prestige because the modders be giving out free XP instead of charging 1600 MS points.
This guy deserves an award for being so awesome. I wish there were more people like this that played online.
Wow, that guy was really nice. Salute indeed.
Thats freakin amazing
Thank God for over-demanding med school obligations. Without them we would all be poor on Energy Credits.
The fact that there are people out there makes me feel that hope for humanity is not lost.
The same thing happened to me many times on Runescape (ashamed to say this). I found a lot of stuff of items from on the ground in a out-of-the-way place once. And a couple of times someone just gave me stuff because I was a low-level.
You have some damn good luck Kreyg!
That, is one awesome dude. I hope whatever medical field he is studying in he does well in and becomes a successful surgeon or doctor.
lol i had the same occurrence in runes of magic, some lvl 55 gave me like 20mil gp…no im not giving proof, why? dont ask lol
That was a very generous person. But i wonder how he got all of the energy credits in the first place….
Yeah, 1 million is A LOT. It was funny though, you should have heard Ronny. he was like OOOOOHHHH MY GGGAWWWDDDD
yeah that was so random XD
Wow. Thats awesome. *salute* thank you whoever you are random med student.
was this caught on camera?
Wow, that is pretty awesome. The sheer coincidence alone makes this story 10x better. That guy seems pretty cool.
