Translating popular gaming titles into their 2D equivalents seems to have become fairly popular as of late. Titles such as Left 4 Dead and Portal are a couple recent examples of this practice. Now, the team at Pixel Prospector has added Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 to the list of self described–”demade games”.
This remake follows the events of the single player of Modern Warfare 2, so be forewarned, it does contain spoilers. The game itself is only 16 MB in size, and comparably can be completed in a very short amount of time–anywhere from 5-20 minutes. Nevertheless, it’s a good way to kill a few minutes while revisiting your favorite moments of Modern Warfare 2 in a more lighthearted environment.
Some actions you’ll find yourself making in the game include controlling a stationary gun, flying a helicopter, controlling a remote missile, and more–most of which can be seen in the gameplay video provided.
Might I add that Modern Warfare 2D would have been a superior name for this project, as opposed to the current name–Call of Duty 6 (2D Remake).
The game is completely free and will only take up 16 MB on your hard drive, so why not give it a shot?
The Pixel Prospector website also has a truckload of other games that you might be interested in. Browse through it a little and see if anything catches your eye.
