Update: Seller of $50,000 NES Was Duped and Re-lists — Reason Being Kept “Private”
The other day, we spotted an NES and 42 games on ebay that was listed for the insanely high buy it now price of $35,000. The NES bundle came with nothing too spectacular, but the seller was asking for help to pay some bills and stop living paycheck to paycheck. The seller also claimed that his NES was his most prized possession.
Well, it looks like eBay user Ronald3868 is going to be parting ways with his NES. The console actually sold, and for $15,000 more than the asking price — that’s right. The auction ended and the NES has been sold for the astonishing price of $50,000. I said the other day if the NES sold I would sh*t myself metaphorically. Well, after seeing that, I almost did literally.
With this, you can bet others are going to try and sell off their old consoles for insanely high prices. Well congrats to Ronald on actually selling the console. It looks like he’ll be able to pay his bills after all.
Original Nintendo Entertainment System Package BUNDLE [eBay]

The item was sold, but maybe the buyer cancelled the transaction, it is relisted here http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140429425951
I still have my original Atari you know, but I’m holding to it until my bills start to pile up.
It would appear that the $50,000 was from someone messing around and wasting time, on the internet?!? shock and horror! Who would have thought.
The machine has already been re-listed and i would be seriously surprised if it ever went for the price he is asking, the machine isnt even mint condition, let alone special edition/rare etc..
re-listing

it didn’t sell. it has already been re-listed.
Most likely outcome is that the “buyer” won’t send the money and the seller has to pay list fees. Who got conned after all?
I was under the impression that there were safeguards against things like that on eBay.
How do you know that it has been sold? After all it only says that the listing has ended – no mention of a successful buyer.
Congratulations to him. Let’s hope he puts that money to good use.
I own most of the games sold and then some. Got two NES consoles and 100 games. Ronald thinks he’s down on luck? How about being homeless with six cats and everything you own in storage with no way to pay for it?
I was homeless for a while. I had a job though and my boss let me sleep in the back room of the store. If I could hire and pay you to do something. I would
Brb, gonna go shit brix
I really wish I still had an NES.
Incoming Shit.
Sounds like money laundering done really poorly.
I guess some rich guy or gal helped him out. I still got my nes in a closet someplace, time to see if it still works.
bet it had a rare game. there’s a track and field game that sells for 5 figures on ebay
Just wow.
It was ended, not sold.
It ended because it was sold, you do know how eBay works right?
The listing ended. It will be sold when he gets the money. He has yet received this.
You are completely wrong.
Wow! that’s a lot of of money to spare on a NES plus the games and all of that, but good for him.
Goddang 50k?! That’s crazy.
Too bad I don’t have my NES or any of my old consoles. They’ve either broke or have been given some relatives. D:
I have that :/ NES, gun, 2 controllers.. How much can I sell mine for? :O except for the shitload of games, woah.. nice price tho
That’s just insane! But it nice to see that someone who needed the help, got it… And an extra $15k to boot!
Let’s just hope that Ronald can not only get out of debt, but stay out of it to.
money well spent
I wonder how much can I get for my old GameGear?
Right? I wonder how much I can sell my old GameBoy for.
holy crap…!
I wasn’t expecting much of a response for $35,000, but sold for $50,000…. HOLY SHIT!
