Porn Message Over Xbox Live Causes Mother To Rage

Xbox live is a place where gamers can get together and play games with friends — or people from all around the world. It’s a place filled with gamers having unique gaming experiences. A unique experience is exactly what an 11 year old San Antonio boy got when he received pornographic photos over Xbox Live.

When the boys mother–Rosie Garcia–learned of what had happened, she immediately contacted the San Antonio Police. She turned over the “accused predators” gamertag, so that the police can backtrace it because he done goofed. The mother then filed a complaint on the Xbox website, and now she must wait for the infamous cyber police to catch the “accused predator.” For him, consequences will never be the same.

“When they are playing against their friends, it’s a controlled environment, but when they join a party, it can be someone in Japan, Australia, anywhere in the world,” Garcia said — and she’s 100% correct. You never know who you’re going to play with, or what someone is going to message you. Then again, is allowing your 11 year old full access to Xbox live a smart thing to do?

There is no word on what game the child was playing, but it would be awfully funny if he was playing something Rated M.

There are really douchey and weird people over Xbox live i have had my encounters with Assholes over xbox live but there mostly 9-10 years acting Tuff on Halo 3.but i mean when games are 17+ your most likely going to run into some 35 year old dude Face it if that kid played a T game he probably wouldnt have met that dude who sent him the porn. Jeez hope it was straight or lesb if it was man that would actual be kinda kool but would interrupt my game ” oh kool message (open message) KOOL naked chick Game over dammit”

All I say is that the ESRB does not rate online experiences it is basically a buyer beware situation whenever you use the internet. It’s unfortunate but also extremely hard to control.

Remember kids don’t goof up, or the Cyber Police is going to backtrace your ass.

Although I’ve never received pr0nz on XBL, it not a place for little kids. There are creeps and assholes all over the place, and you are bound to run into one.

That’s why there are Parental Controls. And if your a parent and don’t know that , that is an option, don’t use technology that enables use of the internet.

You know that is exactly what I ask every single person I get on xbox live with “do you want me to send you porn?”
I think it was just 11 year old boy talk among friends, more then likely she has a parental control on the internet so he asked his friend to send him pictures.

Xbox live and Psn are full of idiots and pedos..fortunate for me none in my family has experienced this. Its up to mom to take care of business which she is doing.

My bet is that the person who sent the pic was trying to get an 11 year old’s parent to ban him from xbox live because he found him annoying.
Dick move, but I could see it happening.

/Sigh, stupid people keep ruining the Xbox name. Then again, PS Home is pretty creepy too. So many people following and stalking “hot” G.I.R.L’s in PS Home and trying to cyber with them.

    • PS3fanftw July 30, 2010 at 07:28 - Reply

At least we don’t get CAUGHT doing this kind of shit.

      • 360fanftw July 30, 2010 at 07:30 - Reply

Cause everyone is too stupid to report people on PS Home. Plus you can make account after account, and not have it tied to anything personal like on XBL, where you can actually get tracked down and brought to justice.

Who the fuck uses PS Home?

I use it just to mess with people, but I get bored really fast. It is not all that great, there are some cool things, but those get old and boring fast.
