Yesterday’s poll on GameFAQs asked it’s community “Do you have a significant other?” Well, there were a total of 79268 people polled, and 42.35% of them don’t have one and have never had one. While there is no age range on the poll. Does this mean gamers need to get out more or does this mean we’re just too cool for girls?
Whatever the case, it’s time for HBG to do a little poll of it’s own. It’s the same as the GameFAQs, but we’re going to compare the results after our poll closes. Please answer honestly. The poll is 100% anonymous so you don’t have to worry about anyone ever finding out. You don’t need to be registered to partake either.

I have only had 1 official girlfriend my whole life thus far. Now that not to say I’ve only been with one woman.
Surprisingly I have a significant other. For at least 2 years now.

I guess the reason is because most gamers are not attractive?
Girls are shallow for the most part, so a lot of guys are obviously going to be girlfriendless because they are not..amazingly attractive.
I totally agree with you. A LOT of girls today are shallow and materialistic. If you dont look good or at least have money, a girl won’t give you the time of day.

It’s pretty funny that most of the guys that voted they haven’t had a girlfriend because they can’t find a girl gamer. Why? Well because I’m a girl gamer and I hope to one day find someone (near my current location, guys) that is ok with me and gaming. It would be fun to find a guy gamer.
I’m on the fence about being ok with being single. Especially since my friends, for the most part, have boyfriends. But I’m young, so whatever. I’d rather have fun by myself and with friends now than try to do it when I have to work and go to college in the next couple years.

On a side note, this is the first time I have been to this site and was somewhat taken back by the level of rudeness of your response to kid’s post. The commenter “me” honestly did not read the post. I said the purpose of doing this to compare Hot Blooded Gaming’s community to GameFAQs. I don’t see how this not really even being news was Bias in anyway. I did it for something different for the readers here and it got picked up by some people. Which was really awesome to see. BUT It wasn’t to bash anyone, it wasn’t to even be a “report.”
I simply wanted to see if there were differences between the communities or if there was a trend. So far the stats are about the same — and that’s all I wanted to see.
Anywho – could I have handled things different? Yes. Did I over react a bit? For sure. But using a spamish email (which I cannot publish or disclose) and leaving a comment claiming a simple web poll comparison is bias news is just a little ridiculous in my book — but, enough of that guy. You learn from mistakes and people coming along and helping by pointing them out.

I have had a girlfriend in life before, it lasted about 2 years and we are stil great friends to this day.
But the Truth is, I could honesty get a new girlfriend anytime i wanted to, I just can’t find one T_T. @KR3W Joker is right, the only way to get over being shy is getting out and putting yourself in those social situations. It’s tough, but once you do it that first time it gets easier after that.
