Chalich / LaChapelle
There are some people out there that take video games a little too seriously — this is a prime example of that. Two men were playing a game against one-another on the PlayStation 3 when a dispute broke out between the them.
Instead of turning off the game and walking away and leaving it at that, Eric LaChapelle decided to take things to the next level. LaChapelle drove to the house of the person he had been playing online with–18 year old Cory Chalich–and when he arrived — he assaulted him.
In what can be described as an act of self-defense, Chalich grabbed a knife and threatened LaChapelle. This prompted LaChapelle to run, but he was arrested just minutes later by the Police.
Both men are being charged with misdemeanors, but were released by Police. LaPucelle was charged with third degree assault and Chalich was charged with second degree menacing. It makes you wonder what the argument was over in the first place, but either way it should not end up like this. These two need to get their gamer rage under control — that’s for sure.

It’s all Grand Theft Auto’s fault
this article should be called “Fat princess scramble” :p
Wooooow. *facepalm* Ok these two have to be THE MOST STUPIDEST GAMERS OUT THERE! I mean come the hell on REALLY? Day by day video games and gamers are becoming worse and worse to the public.
Someone guessed MW2 already, so I’m going to say either Madden or MAG.
But thanks a lot D-bags, making us gamers look like the violent, crazy, asshats that a lot of society already stereotypes us to be.
Nice one guys. Thanks for making video games look bad to society.
/sarcasm
second degree menacing…. i never knew that threatening some one with a knife in self defense was a law… that’s just ridiculous
i bet it was over MW2
Charges against Chalich are kind f unfair in my mind.
this story is a lie…they were not play PS3 ….it was probably a 360…
Stuff like this never happens on the N64.
and no one gives two shits if it was a gaystation 3 or xbox
What ever happened to taking a deep breath then slowly counting to ten? That helps me whenever I get the urge to rage.
