Mafia II Banned In United Arab Emirates

It seems the UAE has made the decision to ban Mafia II because of violence and as we all know, nudity. It shouldn’t have been a surprise to everybody since the first Mafia game was banned and this one takes it up a notch with its portrayal of non-fictional ta-tas taken from Playboys.

It’s strange to see a partial list of banned games in the UAE because one can find a pattern with some games like Mafia II, Mass Effect and Heavy Rain which all have or nearly have nudity. Then there is Red Dead Revolver which there was confusion whether it was banned or not and once it was confirmed no one knew why.

There is the point that can in an advanced country like the UAE a game can be truly banned? Through the Internet there is always a way to get what you want so I’m not sure how it will stop our brothers and sisters in gaming, but it is interesting though to see what gets through and what gets stopped.

I know you’re trying to be funny, but that was just stupid and unnecessary.

Red Dead Redemption also had nudity, that’s probably why.
