Get Ready To See Kinect Everywhere

When it comes to Microsoft, they don’t skimp when it comes to advertising a new product. That is the case with Kinect, as it is getting closer and closer to the launch date. It is reported that Microsoft is spending around $500 million dollars advertising their entry to the motion control world — Kinect.

It is going to be on everything from soda cans to cereal boxes. They have struck a deal with giants that are Pepsi, Burger King, and Kellogg’s. But wait, that’s not all Kinect will be on. Oh that is just the start. They have also partnered with YouTube, Nickelodeon and Disney digital properties.  So that takes care of the kid demographic, but now to get the mom’s into Kinect as well. Well they have ad spots for hit shows like Glee, and Dancing With The Stars. Also ads will appear in People and InStyle publications.

Kinect is the largest, most integrated marketing initiative in Xbox history, bigger than its launch. We are going to be spending millions to launch this globally.

So get ready people, the Kinect invasion is upon us. Only a matter of time until we are bombarded with all things Kinect. November 4th is just around the corner people, let the ads flood in. Kinect will be in everything and anything it seems.

Microsoft also has deals with Macerich and Akoo. Macerich operates lots of shopping centers and Akoo runs the video streams in the foodcourts. When I pass through our mall after work, all I see on the TVs are adverts for Kinect and banners for Xbox. Not gonna buy it, but still tons of representation out there.
