Well no joking will be going on here, this is a completely and unfortunately true. A young Chinese couple has sold each of their three kids, not because they were part of some corrupt system, but to get money to keep playing online games at an internet cafe. Of course this couple met in an internet cafe and fell in love since they both shared the love of online game.
Just a short year later the couple welcomed their first child — a son, which they soon left at home alone, to of course go to an internet cafe to play online games. For what ever reason, they had another child soon after, and had the great idea to sell this child for some quick cash. They received RMB 3,000 which is just about $500. Since that first deal went so well, they thought, why not and sold their son for even more money, RMB 30,000, or about $4600.
When they had their third child, of course they went the same route this time too. Selling their third child for another RMB30,000. When Li Lin’s mother found out what her son and his girlfriend had done with her three grandchildren she very smartly turned them into local authorities.
When asked why they did this unspeakable act and if they missed their children, they simply said.
We don’t want to raise them, we just want to sell them for some money.
That right there is one of the worst quotes I have ever had to post, if you never wanted to raise your children why in the hell did you have children? I hope those kids are alright, and weren’t sold to even worse people who will do unspeakable things.

Ugh. Pathetic sacks of shit. No child should ever be put through that. If only every sick, twisted, stupid person was incapable of having/creating a child.
Despicable. And it does not bode well for the children because I cannot see that the type of people who are buying children are going to raise them well and give them a good life.
That's disgusting. Why not just buy some god damn computers and play at home so you can at least watch your children? And seriously... $500 for an entire person's life? No amount of money is enough for my daughter's life. How can you trade away your own flesh and blood for such a small amount?
Edit: On further thought, I don't think their children would benefit much from those "parents" being at home if all they're going to do is play games 24/7. I just hope those kids find their way to a safer place.
this is just sad. we live in a world where people get way too addicted to games and are willing to give up everything they have to keep playing that game. i hope these kids get very good parents

In a way, I'm happy the children got sold because, even though he will never know who his original birth parents are, they will most likely live much better lives with their foster parents then their birth parents.
Still though, this takes addiction to a whole new level. Who in their right mind would actually sell their own flesh and blood in order to buy video games? I don't know a word hash enough to be used to describe these two people.

Yeah, I re-read the last line and saw that they were sold to "shady people". I thought they were sold to an Orphanage or some other child-care place, so maybe either way those kids are going to have awful lives >_>

I don't know if it's confirmed that they were sold to shady people. I just find it hard to imagine they weren't I suppose if there is anywhere that normal people would purchase children, it is China, what with the effort to curb excessive population growth. I think we all hope they weren't sold to bad people.
I'm just trying to imagine a "normal" person that would actually pay another family money for their baby...
Like I said, I find it hard to imagine. The only two examples I could think of were:
A) Couple where one or both of the partners are sterile, and they want children immediately (no 9 month surrogate) and in the case of the son being purchased, without the baby stage.
B) Couple that wants kids, but does not want to further contribute to overpopulation in the country.
In both cases I cannot imagine why they would not go for adoption from an orphanage or other child care center.

One thing that enters my mind is how hard it is going to be when these kids are old enough to ask about their biological parents and why they were given up. Anyways, terrible couple, I hope the legal system awards them nothing but pain for the rest of these "parents" lives.

Sorry if I may have sounded racist, the only 3 korean familys I know are terrible parents that each have had kids get terribly ill and had to be taken to a foster home because of their neglect and reading about this just sparked an un-called for racist moment due to personal experience, even more so un-called for since they are Chinese and not Korean. I understand that its not just them and im sorry if I offended you or others. I get very angry when I hear about things like this and tend to say stuff that arent necessarily true to just vent frustration even though I tried to make it clear I wasn't branding ALL Asians as bad parents. Again sorry if I offended you or anyone else.
