It’s well known that the PC is the “lead platform” for the upcoming shooter from DICE and EA. However, some out there wonder just what the difference in graphics will be between the three platforms Battlefield 3 will release on. Well, we’ve taken a little time to make this comparison video for you.
The video shows the game on consoles stacked up against medium settings on the PC. Why medium you ask? Well, it’s the closest to the console versions. However, there are some differences. You will notice them when you watch the video.
We also decided to compare the medium specs against the ultra. The Ultra generally had better looking textures, lighting, and a few other things compared to the medium settings — but that was to be expected. That’s why it’s Ultra settings. However, Ultra utterly dominated the consoles in terms of looks, but again — that was to be expected. Battlefield 3 releases on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on October 25th.
Editor’s Note: Footage was filmed in 720p for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 using a BlackMagic Intensity Pro. PC footage was recorded at 1280×720 for the purpose of comparison. Medium Footage Filmed on a DirectX 10 Rig. Ultra Footage Filmed on Direct X 11 Rigs.
