Earlier today, we reported a peculiar message from SEGA that was sent in response to a SOPA-related email from Hot Blooded Gaming community member DanGlozier66. This response from SEGA suggested that he “perform a hard reset on the device” – clearly a message that is not related to the Stop Online Piracy Act in any way.
Following the message making its way across the internet, SEGA responded to the confusion in the form of an apology video. While the majority of the video attempts to put a positive spin on the situation, it ends with a sincere apology.
“Obviously, “perform a hard reset” was not an appropriate response to the customer’s question. We sincerely apologize for the confusion.”
That being said, we’ve still yet to hear an actual response from SEGA concerning its view on SOPA.

The damage is already done SEGA...you should just send Dan one of those awesome Dreamcast hoodies now and tons of swag to lure him back to your side.
Very poor attempt at trying to make light of the situation. However, they tried and I can't really fault them for that.
Funny video, but I still want an appropriate response on their stance on SOPA and if they have put any further thought into their support of SOPA.
Okay, I'm fat, but that girl's stomach is like......just wow.....it's like....I don't even know. :|
Anyway, slightly funny video, but still a serious situation.
What a thoughtful "apology"...>_>
I'm glad SEGA thought this was humerous, obviously they're too cowardly to give us a proper answer on there views and are trying to keep the gaming community on their side with these ridiculous attempts. Try harder SEGA.
What the fuck, I want to un-watch that fucking video as soon as fucking possible.
As well, what are they thinking, "Oh, we fucked up maybe we can try and make a meme out of our fuck up...Ha, Hard Reset All The Things!" Bullshit!
You know, I thought the whole situation was at least a little amusing, at least until I saw that video.
Still wonder about their honest position... They're probably supportive by ESA proxy though.
Aaaaaaaand Sega continues to avoid the question.
They dont seem to be taking this serously well no more buying SEGA stuff
SEGA have fucked up big time, this is getting major now.
Yeah I read that, I really wish I could meet these guys, lol.
Ladies and gentlemen... We have a new meme in the works...
If anyone uses the 'Hard Reset' joke against me, I will riot... :L
If you start to riot, performing a hard reset should fix the problem.
Didn't see that coming... ;)
Aww, dammit. We're doing it already. We need to stop it before it becomes a meme. Maybe doing a hard reset should fix things.
Wait...
The SEGA bunch are already turning this into a damn meme, don't worry :L
but a hard reset fixes everything...
Not cool bro... ;L
They do so little at sega they have time to record a stupid video. Shocking.
Wait, did they tell the pregnant woman to abort her baby?
Also, I noticed they've still refused to mention their stance on SOPA.
This would aggitate with me if I actually bought SEGA products to begin with! LOL But I don't, and they could care less. Honestly, I 'm not sure why they arn't disguisted with the lack of quality control they have had over the years.
I think SEGA have let themselves down in so many regards with the whole situation, not only themselves but to there adoring fans, it pretty much is like they do not give a shit about giving good service anymore.
Sounds like SEGA needs a Hard-Reset! Kappa
They may become a productive company at the point
Thanks Sega, giving me an excuse not to trust your services.
At least the truth is out about them now.
Btw guys, story has now also been covered on Joystiq - http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/13/se...-a-joke-video/
