The title of this article is a direct result of me searching for “Snowboarding Terms” online, and then proceeding to haphazardly arrange them into something that I’m quite confident doesn’t make sense to anyone with actual knowledge of the sport.

But my irresponsible degradation of snowboarding language isn’t the story here – the real news is that a playable demo for SSX is now available!

You may or may not be surprised to hear that a new game in the SSX series is set to launch next week, February 28, for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. If you’re currently counting the days until you can hop back on the virtual snowboard, then the availability of a demo may interest you.

The demo in question takes you through a handful of ‘Race it’ and ‘Trick it’ events, as well as allows you to upload ghosts of your best runs online. Only one character, Zoe Payne, is playable straight out of the gate – although players who send the SSX demo to a friend will also receive access to playable character Mac Fraser.

This demo for SSX is currently available on the Xbox 360, while PlayStation 3 owners will need to wait until later today.
