EA have announced that the public BETA for soon to be released Medal of Honour: Warfighter will be an Xbox 360 exclusive.
The BETA’s release window has been confirmed as “early October” and will feature all gun unlocks and classes in the game along with one game mode called HotSpot, which is the typical Conquest/Capture the Flag game type only with randomised objectives. Going off EA’s description there will only be one playable map too called Sarajevo Stadium which is located in Bosnia.
Apparently, the public BETA will only be available to download for a limited time only, so if you want in you’d better keep a close eye on proceedings.
Downloading the BETA will also grant you 60 minutes of online double-XP in the full game when it releases so you can rank up faster and obtain each classes different variety of guns.
Obviously this BETA experience require a Gold membership with Xbox Live, but most people have that so it shouldn’t be a problem.
Now, all of this is fine and dandy and it’s obviously an Xbox 360 exclusive for marketing purposes, but do you agree with EA’s choice here? As I am solely a 360 gamer it doesn’t really affect me, but as the PS3 has it’s Battlefield 3 early access deal I can already say no, I don’t agree with them on this.
Another thing, it’s interesting to see the time period they’re giving themselves and others here. The Battlefield 4 BETA has been given the late 2013 release window, that’s a full year away but with the Warfighter BETA it’s a matter of days.
This whole thing throws up a lot of questions but we’ll just have to sit tight and await further details.
