What Do You Want to See in 2013?

2013header

We hope you had a great New Year! How did you celebrate it? What are your New Year’s Resolutions?

Well, as the fireworks die down and the New Year celebrations come to a close, through the fog of last year 2013 starts to come into clear view. 2012 was a great year for gaming, we all know it was. In truth, as 2011 (one of the best years for gaming I’ve ever, ever had) drew to a close, 2012 looked to be a pretty poor year, for gaming at least.

How we were all proven wrong.

Alongside the several huge sporting events of 2012, we had the pleasure of playing games like Max Payne 3, Journey, Trials Evolution, The Walking Dead episodes, Dragon’s Dogma, Diablo III, Spec Ops: The Line, Sleeping Dogs, Planetside 2 and many, many others. Looks like it wasn’t a slow year after-all.

But now it’s 2013. A very promising year indeed.

Gamers around the world are counting down the days to their most anticipated games this year. Whatever your preferred genre, 2013 looks to be a good year for gaming. Rumours of next-gen consoles of course plague the front pages of many websites, maybe the next Xbox or PlayStation is a possibility this year, who knows?

There’s a whole host of titles set for release this year too. Here’s an incredibly brief overview of what 2013 has to offer:

There’s Square Enix’s bold new take on the whole Tomb Raider name coming March the 5th, then there’s the much anticipated release of GTA V, which is arguably the stand-out point for most gamers, coming this Spring. Others include Terraria coming to 360 and PS3 in the next month or two, Dead Space 3 releasing in February, the semi-loose sequel to Dead Island, Dead Island: Riptide, The Last of Us a month later in May along with the South Park RPG and towards the end of 2013 (feels like a long way away, I know) Battlefield 4. A few unscheduled release dates aside from GTA V‘s include the beautiful looking Watch_Dogs, The Elder Scrolls Online, Deadpool and last but not least… Animal Crossing: New Leaf for the 3DS. Erm, you can switch that last one out with the Rambo game if you want.

It really does look to be an insane year. The best one yet? We can’t say yet but if we get next-gen consoles this year then it will probably surpass 2011.

So the question remains, what do you want to see out of 2013 for gaming? The next-gen consoles make an appearance? Let us know in the comments section below.

I want to see The last Guardian and Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Two games announced years ago for this console generation and they have yet to any release dates. Supposedly these games aren't canceled. But we've had little to no news about these games for past couple years. It's ridiculous.

Lets hope they find their way out of Limbo along with Prey 2 before the current console generation ends. Cause I sure as hell want to play these games before then.

Oh, it's in full development. Someone from DICE confirmed it.

Just reading through this thread again and it got me thinking, Mirror's Edge was one of the first games to come out on the 360... it's crazy how the sequel has only just been confirmed to be in the development stage. From one of the first releases to one of the last. Fuck, it might even be one per generation Strangely, that could happen. I don't think they'll wanna milk the next Xbox as much as they have done with the 360.

2012 definately was a good year to be a gamer. My only current obessions is GTA V. Otherwise I will do like I always do, wait for someone to get me hooked on it....hold out for as long as I can...and then buy it.
